Mark. D. Sikes’s much anticipated third book, Forever Beautiful, has finally arrived, and wow is it exquisite! A celebration of classic American design, the book showcases 12 incredible homes, one for each month of the calendar year. What I love most about his style and books, is the livability of his homes. While polished and elegant, his designs are also functional for everyday life, and page after page, there is so much vision in everything Sikes creates.
The book takes readers on an incredible design journey from sunny Hollywood, California to charming Sea Island Georgia, to a snowy Swiss Chalet style home in Sun Valley, Idaho. I have poured over this book countless times since it arrived and continue to discover intricate details (hand painted coffered ceilings!) captivating art and endless ideas on how to create a beautiful home. Adoring fans will appreciate that his projects continue to boast ionic Sikes favorites such as playful stripes, blue and white color palette, enchanting florals, luxurious trims, and of course wicker and gingham.
Sikes draws inspiration from the pristine and inherent beauty of nature, from sky blues to grassy greens to rosy reds. Soft afternoon sunlight dancing through the trees, the rhythmic movement of the sea, and picturesque snowcapped mountains perched atop a wintergreen forest. His eye for beautiful aesthetics is truly unmatched and here are just a few of the many stunning images in his book. Enjoy!
